Profa Leila Silva da UFS visita a UFPB

A profa Leila Silva e seu aluno de IC Marcos Paulo Paixão, visitarão a UFPB de 28/02 a 05/03. Na ocasião, será realizado um workshop interno do projeto Desenvolvimento Distribuído orientado a Linhas de Produtos de Software, com participação de toda a equipe da UFPB e da UFS. Reuniões de trabalho definirão como se dará a integração do trabalho que vem sendo desenvolvido em separado nas duas instituições.

Abstract: In order to improve software quality and reduce costs and deadlines, many companies are adopting Software Product Line approaches. As a consequence of globalization, another common practice is the adoption of Global Software Development approaches, which seek to find more qualified workforce and more attractive costs in companies distributed around the world. Taking into account the benefits of both approaches, the framework proposed in this paper has the goal of aiding the management of global software teams involved in the implementation phase of an SPL project, providing recommendations on how to allocate the teams to the set of software components, which are initially specified in the SPL architecture and must be subsequently implemented.

INES participates in the IV EBTS

The members of INES Cristiano Bertolini, Felype Ferreira, Laís Neves, Juliano Iyoda e Michelle Silva from project Tests Generation, Selection, Prioritization and Processing Product Line, and Caliane Figuerêdo from project Software Productivity Laboratory Network, will participate in the IV Encontro Brasileiro de Testes de Software (EBTS), that will happen in Recife-PE, on April 23 and 24.

Tests Generation, Selection, Prioritization and Processing Product Line Projects’ Meeting

The students from UFCG Francisco Gomes de Oliveira Neto, João Felipe Silva Ouriques and Diego Rodrigues de Almeida will participete of the meeting of Tests Generation, Selection, Prioritization and Processing Product Line project that will be on February 23 at Recife, where they will present their Scientific Initiation works.

Tests Generation, Selection, Prioritization and Processing Product Line Project has an article accepted in ICST 2010

The article “GUI Testing Techniques Evaluation by Designed Experiments” of Tests Generation, Selection, Prioritization and Processing Product Line project was accepted to be pubished in Third International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation.

This publication presents experimental results of using two techniques for GUI testing applications on mobile phones. The techniques were applied to cell phones in order to find crashes. The experiment showed statistically wich is the best technique and parameters that have influence on the time and ability of techniques to find crashes.

The Social Networks group of INES also have a paper accepted on CSCWD 2010

The paper entitled “Qualitative Analysis of a Social Knowledge Management Initiative in an Inovation Institute” was accepted on the 14th International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design (CSCWD2010). This papers is a direct result of the work being done by the “Social Networks as a Knowledge Management Tool for Software Development” (C.E.S.A.R, UFPE e UFBA).

This paper presents the results of a qualitative analysis regarding the usage of a Social Netowrk tool as the main Knowledge Management Tool in a Innovation Institute in Brazil – C.E.S.A.R. This analysis points to some of the main problems regarding this kind of approach to Knowledge Management, and also suggests some good practices to the related knowledge management processs.

Dr. Tiago Massoni, UFCG researcher, visits UFPE

Dr. Tiago Massoni, associate professor at UFCG, visited UFPE from 27th to 29th January/2010 to work with other members of the Definition of a Software Development Testbed project.

INES Context Group has a paper in the CSCWD2010, Shanghai/China

The paper entitled “Using a Metamodel to Design Structural and Behavioral Aspects in Context-Sensitive Groupware” was accepted on the 14th International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design (CSCWD2010). This papers is a direct result of the work being done by the project “Models, Processes and Tools for the Development of Context-Sensitive Systems” (UFPE, UFBA, UFPB e C.E.S.A.R).

The paper presents our proposal of a context metamodel, which indicates how to integrate structural and behavioral aspects in context modeling on groupware. To verify the applicability of the proposal and exemplify its usage, it was realized two experiments using two groupware applications: a expert recommender system, named ICARE; and a event-based notification system named DiSEN-Notifier.
