INES researchers release a new Book
(0)Publicado em September 16th, 2010UncategorizedINES researchers members from the project An Investigation of Methods, Processes, Tools, and Metrics for the Development of Software Product Lines (SPL)” — in portuguese, Uma Investigação de Processos, Ferramentas e Métricas para o Desenvolvimento de Linhas de Produto de Software, released a new book.
The book: The Software Engineering Career: Principles, Concepts and Guidelines, in portuguese, A Carreira de Pesquisador em Engenharia de Software: Princípios, Conceitos e Direções presents important issues for young researchers such as:
– How to define a research agenda?
– How to get funding?
– How to deal with ethics issues in computer science and software engineering?
– How to advise undergraduate and graduate students?
– How to start and keep a good networking?
The book organized by Eduardo Almeida and Paulo Cesar Masiero was wrote by well-known software engineering researchers such as: Carlos José Pereira de Lucena (PUC-Rio), José Palazzo Moreira de Oliveira (UFRGS), Daltro José Nunes (UFRGS), Carla Alessandra Lima Reis (UFPA), Rodrigo Quites Reis (UFPA), Julio Cesar Sampaio do Prado Leite (PUC-Rio), Itana Maria de Souza Gimenes (UEM), Alessandro Garcia (PUC-Rio), Uirá Kulesza (UFRN), Fernanda Alencar (UFPE), Jaelson Castro (UFPE), Alexandre Alvaro (UFSCar-Sorocaba) and Daniel Lucrédio (UFSCar).
The book will be releasable in the Workshop on Guidelines for Young Researchers in Software Engineering which will be a co-located event with CBSoft.

INES at two internacional conferences on Information Integration on the Web
(0)Publicado em September 8th, 2010UncategorizedINES researcher has two papers accepted for presentation in conferences about Information Integration.
The first one entitled “A Context-based Schema Integration Process Applied to Healthcare Data Sources” will be presented in the 3rd International Workshop on Ambient Data Integration (ADI 2010) that will happen along with the OnTheMove Conferences in Crete, Greece, in October 25-28.
The second one, entitled “PSemRef: Personalized Query Reformulation based on User Preferences”, will be at the 12th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services (iiWAS2010) in Paris, France, in November, 8-10.
Both conferences and associated workshops have a very interesting program and it will be an opportunity to see the state of the art from different domains as Information Integration, Ontologies, Semantic Web, Cloud Computing, among others. Tutorials and important invited speakers in the area will be major moments in the evenements. Besides, being at both conferences will be an excellent opportunity to meet people, make new contacts and even stablish new collaborations.
– Prof. Ana Carolina Salgado, UFPE, is a researcher of the project “Models, Processes and Tools for the Development of Context-Sensitive Systems”.
