Prof. Klaus Schmid is going to visit UFBA

Dr. Klaus will perform a sabbatical at the university working with professor Eduardo Almeida, his students and the members of the Software Engineering Lab.
This activity is part of the project An Investigation of Methods, Processes, Tools, and Metrics for the Development of Software Product Lines (SPL) — in portuguese, Uma Investigação de Processos, Ferramentas e Métricas para o Desenvolvimento de Linhas de Produto de Software.

INES at 2nd ERI-PE and 3rd WESS in Petrolina, PE
(0)Publicado em October 29th, 2012NewsINES supports the 2nd ERI-PE (Regional School of Informatics Pernambuco) and promotes the 3rd WESS (Sertão Software Engineering WorkShop) which will be held in December, 04-06, 2012, in the city of Petrolina, PE.
The 2nd ERI-PE, given the National Education Plan and LDB, seeks to promote technological and scientific updating, disseminating research activities and encourage vanguard research among students, teachers and professionals in Information Technology.
The 3rd WESS aims to enable students and professionals in the region a deepening of knowledge, the convergence of interests and research on software engineering, as well as offering technological solutions to regional development.

INES at II International Symposium on OER
(0)Publicado em October 29th, 2012PublicationsThe paper “Open Educational Resources Ontology” has been accepted for presentation at II International Symposium on OER: Issues for globalization and localization, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The work-in-progress is related to the INES project, MDAOnto System – a solution for the development of educational applications supported by model and ontologies.
The paper will be presented in November, 26-30, 2012, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, RJ.

INES Researchers will attend Dagstuhl Seminars
(1)Publicado em October 18th, 2012UncategorizedINES researcher Wilkerson Andrade will attend the Dagstuhl Seminar on Symbolic Methods in Testing, from 6 to 11 of January, 2013. The seminar will be held at LZI Schloss Dagstuhl in Germany.
Also, INES researchers Márcio Ribeiro and Leopoldo Teixeira members of the “Software Productivity Group – SPG”, will attend to the Dagstuhl Schloss Seminar 2013: Analysis, Test and Verification in The Presence of Variability, in Dagstuhl, Germany, taking place from February, 24th to March, 1st.
The invitation-only Dagstuhl seminars bring together the world’s leading researchers, practitioners, and young talents to discuss their ideas.

INES has two papers at the 14th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services (iiWAS2012)
(0)Publicado em October 14th, 2012PublicationsINES researcher has two papers accepted for presentation at the 14th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services (iiWAS2012) that will take place in Bali, Indonesia, from 3 to 5 December 2012. The papers are related to Contextual Information and Information Quality in Data Integration Processes.
The conference has a very interesting program and it will be an opportunity to see the state of the art from different domains as Information Integration, Ontologies, Semantic Web, Cloud Computing, Big Data, among others. Tutorials and important invited speakers in the area will be major moments in the evenements. Besides, it will be an excellent opportunity to meet people, make new contacts and even stablish new collaborations.

INES wins CBSoft2012 best tool, again (3rd time in 3 CBSoft editions)
(0)Publicado em October 2nd, 2012UncategorizedSYMBOLRT: A Tool for Symbolic Model-Based Test Case Generation for Real-Time Systems won the best tool award at the CBSoft 2012 (Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice) tools section . The authors are Wilkerson Andrade (UFCG), Diego Almeida (UFCG), Jeanderson Cândido (UFCG), and Patricia Machado (UFCG).
At the 1st CBSoft (2012) INES researchers won the best tool prize with TaRGeT. In the 2nd edition all awarded best tools were from INES researchers.
The Tool Session is a forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss commercial and noncommercial computational tools designed to support software development activities. The Tool Session focus on three main areas: software engineering (including software component, architecture, and reuse); programming languages; and formal methods.

INES has two best papers at SBCARS 2012

The first place was the paper “Making Software Product Line Evolution Safer”, authored by Felype Ferreira (CIn-UFPE), Paulo Borba (CIn-UFPE), Gustavo Soares (UFCG) and Rohit Gheyi (UFCG). The second bast paper was “Comparing Two Black-box Testing Strategies for Software Product Lines”, authored by Paola Accioly (CIn-UFPE), Paulo Borba (CIn – UFPE), and Rodrigo Bonifacio (UNB).
The VI SBCARS – Brazilian Symposium on Components, Architecture and Software Reuse is a Brazilian SBC symposium that brings together researchers, students and professionals with a wide range of interests in software engineering component-based software architectures, and software reuse.
