INES is acquiring new Equipments

The project An Investigation of Methods, Processes, Tools, and Metrics for the Development of Software Product Lines (SPL) — in portuguese, Uma Investigação de Processos, Ferramentas e Métricas para o Desenvolvimento de Linhas de Produto de Software, is acquiring several equipments such as sensors, controllers, for the research.

INES at ICCSA 2014

INES will be present at the 14th International Conference  on Computational Science and Applications (ICCSA 2014), to be held in Guimarães (Portugal) 30 June-03 July 2014. Research members from the “Definição de um Testbed para o Desenvolvimento de Software” project had the following paper accepted on this conference:

Fernando Castor will attend the 5th ACM Conference on Systems, Programming, Languages, and Applications (SPLASH), to be held in Portland, USA.

ForAll/UFRN updates its library

ForAll, the INES research group at UFRN, is acquiring a batch of recent and classic books to complement its library with additional research and technological references.

INES at COMPARCH

Eduardo Almeida will attend the CompArch conference in France. Eduardo is the PC-Co chair of the 17h International ACM SIGSOFT Symposium on Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE).

INES at the 38th Annual IEEE International Computers, Software, and Applications Conference (COMPSAC)

A paper from ASSERT Members has been accepted for the Industrial Session of the 38th Annual International Computers, Software & Applications Conference (COMPSAC 2014) to be held in Västerås, Sweden, on July 2014. The paper is entitled  “Experiences Integrating Heterogeneous Government Open Data Sources to Deliver Services and Promote Transparency in Brazil“, by Kellyton dos Santos Brito, Marcos Antonio da Silva Costa, Vinicius Cardoso Garcia and Silvio Romero de Lemos Meira.

A brief summary of the paper is following: “The use of Government Open Data to deliver services and promote transparency is a current goal of many governments. In this paper, we briefly describe two contest winner applications with focus on these goals, and present a discussion about the difficulties of integrating Government Open Data to develop them.”

This activity is part of the project “Social Machines and Research Team – SMaRT” and is one of the results of the research being done by ASSERT Lab.

This paper will be soon available on IEEE Digital Library. A new post will be done after the conference, presenting our impressions of the event and the feedback from research community about the work.
