INES Researcher will attend the Big Data Workshop: Challenges and Opportunities

INES researcher prof. Vinicius Cardoso Garcia will attend the Big Data Workshop: Challenges and Opportunities, on November, 13 of 2012. The workshop will be held at Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica – ITA, in São José dos Campos, SP, Brazil.

The workshop aims to discuss partnerships and ongoing activities at ITA and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Big Data Workshop: Challenges and Opportunities, is supported by QIBRAS – Brasil Information Quality (in portuguese, Qualidade da Informação Brasil) and BRASSCOM – Brazilian Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies.

Prof. Dalton Serey (UFCG) visits LES-UFBA

Prof. Dalton Serey (UFCG) will visit the Software Engineering Labs (LES) at Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). LES will host an INES workshop, in the context of the project “Models, Techniques and Tools for Software Evolution”.

INES sponsors the I Workshop on Software in Public Administration

INES is one of the sponsor of the I Workshop on Software in Public Administration. The event is organized by the Tribunal de Contas do Estado de Pernambuco (TCE-PE) and will take place at TCE-PE, in the auditorium of Building Dom Helder Camara on 4 and 5 November and will feature presentations from renowned researchers in the field of Software Engineering, such as Profs. Silvio Meira, Paulo Borba and Sérgio Soares.

The workshop aims at providing a space for discussion of problems and promoting common solutions to various Brazilian government agencies (state, federal and municipal) in the area of software development. In addition, it will serve as a tool for bringing together IT professionals from government agencies, aiming to stimulate joint initiatives.

The Workshop will include selected papers that were submitted by public servants, who will present major problems in the area of software development in public administration. Each paper will be discussed by a researcher from INES, who will make suggestions on possible solutions. There will also be presentations on current and relevant issues in Software Engineering by researchers from INES.

Núcleo INES de Petrolina realiza Workshop

O 1º WORKSHOP DE ENGENHARIA DE SOFTWARE DO SERTÃO DO SÃO FRANCISCO – WESS 2010, será realizado em 14 de abril de 2010, no auditório da Faculdade de Ciências Aplicadas e Sociais de Petrolina (FACAPE) tendo como tema transversal “Desafios da Engenharia de Software para o Desenvolvimento do Vale do São Francisco” e com uma programação composta por palestras com os integrantes do INES: Sérgio Soares (CIn-UFPE) e Laís Salvador (DCC-UFBA), com apresentação de trabalhos científicos e sessões técnicas de apresentação do INES às empresas da região.
O Evento será promovido pelo Núcleo INES em Petrolina, com a participação da Faculdade de Ciências Aplicadas e Sociais de Petrolina – FACAPE, da Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco – UNIVASF e do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sertão Pernambucano – IF SERTÃO – PE.
O Objetivo do evento e estimular a pesquisa e o desenvolvimento de software voltado para o mercado regional, além de promover uma integração entre empresas e as instituições de ensino e pesquisa. O evento tem o apoio oficial da Fundação de Amparo à Ciência e Tecnologia do Estado de Pernambuco-FACEPE
A comissão organizadora do evento é formada por professores das três instituições, que contará também com o apoio dos alunos bolsistas e voluntários.

Call for participation – I Workshop of the Software Productivity Laboratory Network

In August there will be the I Workshop of the Software Productivity Laboratory Network.

The Workshop aims to present, discuss, and refine the model of the Software Productivity Laboratory. Furthermore, encouraging the exchange of experiences and arouse the interest and involvement of the academic community, industry, and society in project activities.

The event was attended by members of the Universities UFPE (Coordination), UFRPE, UPE, UFS, UFCG, UFRN, and CESAR.

Project Workshop – July 1 – Recife

No dia 01 de Julho de 2009 será realizado o workshop do projeto “Uma Investigação de Processos, Ferramentas e Métricas para o Desenvolvimento de Linhas de Produto de Software”, que conta com a participação do C.E.S.A.R (coordenação), UFPE e UFBA.

Durante o workshop serão discutidos diversos aspectos relacionados ao desenvolvimento de linhas de produto. Inicialmente, o foco do workshop irá envolver os aspectos relacionados a meta: Definir Processos para o Desenvolvimento de Linhas de Produto, onde serão discutidos aspectos relacionados a definição de escopo e requisitos, arquitetura, implementação, teste e evolução de linhas de produto. Além disso, aspectos relacionados a agilidade, programação generativa e aspectos dinâmicos devem também ser abordados. O workshop irá contar também, com a participação de Frank van der Linden e John McGregor.

O evento será realizado no auditório do C.E.S.A.R. Posteriormente, a programação completa será disponível. Entretanto, coloque logo na sua agenda.
